2008 VIVA Satellite Symposium: The Next Frontier — Comprehensive State-of-the-Art Management of Critical Limb Ischemia
2008 VIVA Satellite Symposium: The Next Frontier—Comprehensive State-of-the-Art Management of Critical Limb Ischemia
Thursday, September 25, 2008, Las Vegas, NV
Critical limb ischemia (CLI) describes patients with chronic ischemic rest pain, ulcers, or gangrene attributed to peripheral artery disease. CLI represents a challenging population of patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Affecting more than two million people in the United States, the prevalence of CLI is increasing in response to an aging population with an increasing prevalence of diabetes.

By attending this symposium, participants will be better able to:
1. Understand the epidemiology, natural history, associated risks and methods of diagnosis for CLI
2. Determine the role of surgical revascularization in patients with CLI.
3. Explain the technical aspects and outcomes of current endovascular procedures for infrapopliteal disease.
