Nearly 500 special friends and fans
of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation gathered on Tuesday, September 5
at the Minneapolis Hilton to meet and hear George F. Will, the nationally
recognized columnist, commentator, and author. Mr. Will's syndicated column
appears in more than 500 newspapers in the United States and Europe. He is an
original member of the panel of ABC News' This Week with Sam Donaldson and Cokie
Roberts.
He has published six collections of his columns, three books of political
philosophy and two best sellers on the subject of baseball. Mr. Will entertained
the audience with insights about politics and baseball after his introduction by
Baseball Hall of Famer, Harmon Killebrew. Eleven corporate and individual
sponsors joined with 28 table sponsors to raise more than $105,000 for the
Foundation's research and education programs.
