Merck Donates $25,000 to MHIF

On January 19, 1999, Dr. Kevin Graham was presented a check for $25,000 for further research in the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation's 55 and Under Registry. As the registry's director, Dr. Graham has been following young patients with documented atherosclerosis requiring hospitalization for almost seven years, accumulating data on more than 2,300 patients. The registry is unique, quickly instituting evidence-based medicine to a large group of young patients with known atherosclerosis.

Seen here accepting the check are (l to r) Dr. Kevin Graham, MHI cardiologist; Lynn Sanders, Merck carediovascular specialty representative; David Jansen, Merck national account executive; and Dr. Ford Watson Bell, MHIF president.

Paper Warehouse
The Foundation received a special February gift from Paper Warehouse in the form of a $10,000 check as proceeds from the February 1-14 sale of 192,000 red heart-shaped mylar balloons.

"We as a company believe it's important to support organizations that strive to improve the health of everyone. We are excited about helping the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation continue its work," said Yale T. Dolginow, president and chief executive officer, Paper Warehouse. Paper Warehouse is a publicly traded paper products, party goods, art supply and commercial office goods retailer with 143 stores in 24 states.
