Ford W. Bell, DVM, MHIF president (right), congratulating Luo Wan-Jun, MD, on his completion of a one-year surgery fellowship with the Foundation. Dr. Wan-Jun, from Changsha in Hunan province, spent the year working with cardiovascular surgeons from the Minneapolis Heart Institute. In particular, he worked on the Computer Motion robotic surgery research project with Drs. Jim Burdine and Robert Emery. Dr. Wan-Jun's wife and 14-year-old daughter joined him in Minnesota. During the school year, his daughter, Yen Li, was an 8th grader at Sanford Middle School in Minneapolis. Yen Li indicated she would miss her new friends in Minnesota very much, but plans to stay in touch with them by e-mail.
