Several enhancements have been made to the 2002 event including an
instructional clinic, product presentations, a hole-in-one contest, and a
$100,000 shootout.
Jerry Kiernan, Chairman of the Classic, was recently asked about his thoughts
on an event that he and a handful of friends organized to "raise a few dollars"
for cardiovascular research and education. "I was a young man and a grateful
patient when we gathered in 1982 to contribute some money to the Foundation.
Today, I am still young and am more grateful than ever for the medical advances
encouraged by our contributions. The success of the event has gone way beyond
any original expectation. The support of our sponsors and community is a tribute
to all of those whose heart disease is treated or prevented."

Paper Warehouse
For
the fourth consecutive year, Paper Warehouse has presented the Foundation with a
portion of the proceeds from the sale of 10-inch heart shaped Mylar balloons
sold during the Valentine season. During this year's sale, 87 corporate-owned
stores participated by donating 10% of each balloon sale. The company's Chairman
of the Board, Yale Dolginow, sent a check for $14,000 along with his thoughts
about Paper Warehouse's support of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
"I believe in the Foundation and everything it represents for our community.
Paper Warehouse is pleased to support those efforts with another gift."
Since 1999, Paper Warehouse has contributed nearly $50,000 for the
Foundation's cardiovascular research and education programs.
